Plot Player is a media player. This page explains what we store and why. We keep as little as we can.
What we store
- Device record. When the app first opens, it registers a random device ID. We store that ID, the device type and model, the app version, the date of first launch, when the app last checked in, and the network address it registered from. We use these to run the 30-day trial, activations and abuse protection.
- Playlists you add on this website. Links and logins you enter here are stored encrypted and are only sent to the device they belong to. Playlists you add directly in the app stay on the device.
- Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive the plan, amount, date and the email address you give Stripe. We never see or store card details.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads and don't use advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We don't see what you watch. Playback goes directly from your device to the sources in your playlists.
- We don't sell or share your data, except with service providers needed to run Plot Player (hosting, payments, email).
Deleting your data
Remove playlists any time on the playlists page. To delete a device record entirely, email support@plotplayer.app with the device ID. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.
